Turks of Kosovo and North Macedonia to Be Presented at the European Parliament Minority Intergroup

The European Parliament Intergroup on Traditional Minorities, National Communities and Languages will hold a meeting on 30 April 2026 in Strasbourg, during which the Turkish communities of Kosovo and North Macedonia will be presented to Members of the European Parliament.

The meeting is organized with the initiative and support of the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN) and its Turkish Minorities/Communities Working Group (TAG). The Kosova Genç Birlik Derneği (Kosovo Youth Union Association) has contributed to the process in its capacity as the FUEN Representative for Kosovo.

At the meeting, Sevgi Buş Kika, Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo responsible for Minority Issues, Fikrim Damka, will deliver a presentation on the Turks of Kosovo, while Şeval Nuredin, Vice President of the Turkish Democratic Party (TDP), will present the Turkish community of North Macedonia.

The meeting will be chaired by Loránt Vincze (EPP, Romania), President of the Intergroup. The presentations will address key issues faced by the Turkish communities of Kosovo and North Macedonia, including language rights, access to education, and the need for greater visibility at the European level.

As the Kosova Genç Birlik Derneği, in our capacity as the FUEN Representative for Kosovo, we respectfully inform the public that we will continue to contribute to strengthening the recognition, representation, and visibility of the Turkish community within European institutions.
